Ha! Check out this video being played in stores in Japan. (Yeah, there's another more popular video but in this one you can actually hear the audio.) Unfortunately Namco announced they won't make it downloadable. I hope the translating software wound up missing a "yet" from their blog.

Other news, I'm dieting. That's about how exciting that is. I have the ability to customize my food order between shipments and I'm looking for substitute meals I could get so I could actually be more sociable. So far: dinner's a tough nut to crack. I guess there's something psychological about a nice hot dinner.

That seems to be the overriding theme. You eat high-nutrition now-calorie foods and the portions are sized so that you EAT IT ALL. Like, today I bust open a little can of pasta and beef. If I had to scoop out only 7 ounces from a big basin I'd feel kinda ripped off. But it's an individual pack and I'm encouraged to finish what's in there. When I get to the bottom I can sit back and look at an EMPTY container and go, "ahhhhh".

So far it's working, but I don't weigh myself daily because I'm not a FREAK or anything. I guess I'll know when I have a stroke tomorrow. Or not. Heh.

Quick Gift

This game is pretty cool. There are definitely some interface problems with it due to it being in Flash.

The joy of actual executing code is that it's just. plain. faster. I would love to see a native port of this game. If it used hardware acceleration it would be a phenom. The cursor is hard to see in all the action and analog controls with the ability to move in a direction at a constant speed would have made it perfect.

So open it up, close all other windows, put it on lowest graphical settings, have fun, and pretend it doesn't sadly end at level 50.

Different names

Star Wars turned 30 a few days ago. Without really thrilling things going on right now, I'll admit something.

I can't think of Obi Wan Kenobi (spelling errors are for you entertainment) without thinking of something else.

Back in 1977 my father purchased an issue of Mag Magazine. The Star Wars issue. In that issue they had a parody of the movie in comic book form.

What do I think of? This parallel world... where he's named Oldie Wan Moldy. His sudden sensation of a million voices crying out in horror? The mexican food he ate.

Ahhh... my influences are many splendored.
